FARGO – Jocelyn Schiller’s list of high school athletic accomplishments is almost too long to list.
State champion in three different sports. State championship MVP in Class A girls basketball tournament. Red River’s all-time scoring leader.
He will add another achievement on Wednesday. Division I athlete.
Schiller will sign her national letter of intent today with the University of North Dakota women’s basketball team. Schiller announced his commitment to UND nearly a year ago.
Here is a list of other local players who will be signing letters of intent later today:
Brenna Dick – West Fargo Sheyenne, signs with the University of Mary
Ashton Safranski – Fargo Davies,
signs with MSU Moorhead
There are several local baseball standouts who will re-sign on Wednesday.
Fargo Davies ace pitcher Drew Rerick will sign with Texas A&M out of the Southeastern Conference. Rerick committed to Missouri in 2022, but decommitted after a coaching change with the Tigers.
The 6-foot-5, 230 pound pitcher has been invited to several All-Star games this summer, from San Diego to Phoenix.
“Texas A&M got a new pitching coach from the Seattle Mariners, which was really interesting to me. The school when I visited there, the alumni and former students are very connected, they feel really comfortable there and it would be a good place for me.” Rerick told Dom Izzo in August on Hot Mic.
Shanley’s Tommy Simon has committed to play baseball at Nebraska for almost two full years. Simon committed to the Huskers as a sophomore at the Deacons. He will make it official when he signs with Nebraska on Wednesday.

Simon has been a big part of the Fargo Post 2 legion team for two summers as a vice in their lineup.
“I got an email from Nebraska with the offer and I was ready to commit right away. I still haven’t wrapped my head around it. I have no regrets.” Simon told Hot Mic in July 2022.
Softball also has a Division I player in the metro. Makenna Alexander of West Fargo Sheyenne will sign with UND today. Alexander, a first-team all-state selection for Mark Woodbury’s Mustangs, committed to UND in October of 2022.
I am excited and honored to announce my commitment to the University of North Dakota to continue my academic and softball career! Thanks to my family, coaches and teammates who helped me get here. Go Hawks!! pic.twitter.com/zVkh2mYVej
